Here's my collection of German Drop Troopers for the Incursion boardgame.
I made every model look unique by swapping around body parts
(cutting/drilling/pinning as necessary). Check out this post for details about their bases.
A special thanks to Jeff La Belle of tabletopboardgames and owner of Incursion since 2020. He was kind enough to swap out some of the exposed heads when I placed my order so I could have more troopers wearing gasmasks.
Hilde Becker, Sturmfuhrer
I added a Luger Skorpion machine pistol to her hip since it looks so badass, and because she gets one in Secrets of the Third Reich (SoTR). The pistol came from the SoTR German Weapons Pack.
Karl Wolfsohn, Oberleutnant (unofficial)
This is a custom character I made from a leftover Flammenwerfer body. The only thing I could think to fit in his (missing) hands was a sword! I'm not great at sculpting, but I'm happy enough with how the hands came out.
Karl is armed with Skofnung, a mythical sword with supernatural sharpness and hardness. It is said to be imbued with the spirits of king Hrólf's 12 faithful berserker bodyguards. The sword was plundered from Denmark by Nazi occult forces in 1943.
He also carries a Luger Skorpion, Tellermine, and Panzerfaust.
(Note: The sword is from Tiger Miniatures, available in the US through Recreational Conflict. It was leftover from all my zombie conversions.)Feldwebels
The Geballte Ladung is from Rubicon Model's German Stowage Set 2.
Troopers
I added disposable explosives to these guys since I figured they would be
absolutely armed to the teeth. They're getting air-dropped in small numbers
onto an extremely hostile Gibraltar – the surface is controlled by the Allies
and the inside is controlled by the rogue Dr. Hugo Von X and his horrors.
-
Panzerfausts – for taking down anything large & ugly from a
safe distance. Also for removing metal doors the enemy might be hiding
behind.
- Tellermines – for placing traps against American APE suits and anything developed by Dr. Von X that is heavy enough to trigger them. Doctrine recommends concealing the mine underneath a zombie corpse to evade detection.
-
Hafthohlladungs – for breaching bulkheads and sabotaging machinery. Skilled
troopers can also use them in hand-to-hand combat to take down an APE suit
or any of Hugo's cybernetic monstrosities they may face in the dark tunnels.
The Tellermines, Hafthohlladungs, and plastic webbing are from Rubicon Model's German Stowage Set 2. The Panzerfausts are from SoTR's German Weapons Pack.
(Note: The trooper on the far right has a cybernetic arm. The arm was a miscast so I filled in the missing areas with metal tubes to make it look cybernetic.)
